Join Pawnstormers at Maumee Valley Country Day School for our exciting scholastic series! Whether an experienced player or a first-timer interested in checking out the world of competitive chess, any K-12 student with a U.S. Chess membership is is eligible to register.

Check-In: Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Format: Four-round Swiss; one half-point bye in Rounds 1-3 is available with advance notice to tournament director. A fourth-round bye requested in advance will be a zero-point bye.
Round 1: 10:00 a.m. Subsequent rounds will begin ASAP after all sections complete the prior round.
Time Control: G/45, d5 (45 minutes per side with a five-second delay before the clock starts each move)
Entry Fee: $30 (standard); $20 (early bird - valid until preceding event concludes)
Player must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Adults must be present throughout the event.
Chess sets will be provided, but please bring your own clock.
Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in each section.
